GstParse

These function allow to create a pipeline based on the syntax used in the gst-launch-1.0 utility (see man-page for syntax documentation).

Please note that these functions take several measures to create somewhat dynamic pipelines. Due to that such pipelines are not always reusable (set the state to NULL and back to PLAYING).

gst_parse_context_get_untrusted_report

GstStructure *
gst_parse_context_get_untrusted_report (GstParseContext * context)

Retrieve what a previous run of gst_parse_launch_full or gst_parse_launchv_full refused because GST_PARSE_FLAG_NO_UNTRUSTED was set, so an application can tell the user exactly what a description was refused for and decide whether to build it in a trusted mode.

Everything that was refused is listed, whichever error the parse reported. The result is a GstStructure named untrusted-content with:

  • elements: a list of the factory names that are not marked untrusted-aware, see gst_element_class_mark_as_untrusted_aware. Absent when no element was refused.
  • properties: a GstStructure named untrusted-sensitive-properties, with one field per refused assignment named element-name:property, where element-name is the unique name of the element instance and property is the property as written in the description, possibly a child::property path. The field holds the refused value, parsed into the property's own type when that type is known and parsing the value cannot have side effects, and the string as written otherwise. A refused value is never handed to the property setter. Absent when no property was refused.
  • unresolved-properties: a GstStructure named untrusted-unresolved-properties, same field shape, for assignments to a child that never materialized during the parse (demuxer pads and other runtime-only children). The value is always the string as written, since the property type is not known. Absent when no such assignment was refused.

gst_parse_untrusted_report unpacks these fields without knowing the layout.

Parameters:

context –

a GstParseContext

Returns ( [transfer: full][nullable]) –

a structure describing what was refused, or NULL if nothing was. Free with gst_structure_free.

Since : 1.30

Gst.ParseContext.prototype.get_untrusted_report

function Gst.ParseContext.prototype.get_untrusted_report(): {
    // javascript wrapper for 'gst_parse_context_get_untrusted_report'
}

Retrieve what a previous run of Gst.prototype.parse_launch_full or Gst.prototype.parse_launchv_full refused because Gst.ParseFlags.NO_UNTRUSTED was set, so an application can tell the user exactly what a description was refused for and decide whether to build it in a trusted mode.

Everything that was refused is listed, whichever error the parse reported. The result is a Gst.Structure named untrusted-content with:

  • elements: a list of the factory names that are not marked untrusted-aware, see Gst.ElementClass.prototype.mark_as_untrusted_aware. Absent when no element was refused.
  • properties: a Gst.Structure named untrusted-sensitive-properties, with one field per refused assignment named element-name:property, where element-name is the unique name of the element instance and property is the property as written in the description, possibly a child::property path. Gst.prototype.parse_untrusted_report unpacks these fields without knowing the layout.

Parameters:

Since : 1.30

GST_PARSE_FLAG_NONE (0) –

Do not use any special parsing options.

GST_PARSE_FLAG_FATAL_ERRORS (1) –

Always return NULL when an error occurs (default behaviour is to return partially constructed bins or elements in some cases)

GST_PARSE_FLAG_NO_SINGLE_ELEMENT_BINS (2) –

If a bin only has a single element, just return the element.

GST_PARSE_FLAG_PLACE_IN_BIN (4) –

If more than one toplevel element is described by the pipeline description string, put them in a GstBin instead of a GstPipeline. (Since: 1.10)

GST_PARSE_FLAG_NO_UNTRUSTED (8) –

Refuse to set any property marked GST_PARAM_UNTRUSTED_SENSITIVE, failing the parse with GST_PARSE_ERROR_SENSITIVE_PROPERTY before the property is set, so a setter that performs I/O never runs. A property aimed at a child that does not exist yet is checked at the moment the child appears while parsing, as happens for request pads created by links in the description. A child that still has not appeared when parsing finishes (a pad only added once the pipeline is running, for example a demuxer pad) can never be checked, so the parse is refused. Use this when building a pipeline from an untrusted description; what was refused is recorded in the GstParseContext, see gst_parse_context_get_untrusted_report.

The refused setter never runs, but as with any parse error the partially built pipeline is still returned unless GST_PARSE_FLAG_FATAL_ERRORS is also set, so check the error, not only the return value.

Gst.ParseFlags

Parsing options.

Members
Gst.ParseFlags.NONE (0) –

Do not use any special parsing options.

Gst.ParseFlags.FATAL_ERRORS (1) –

Always return null when an error occurs (default behaviour is to return partially constructed bins or elements in some cases)

Gst.ParseFlags.NO_SINGLE_ELEMENT_BINS (2) –

If a bin only has a single element, just return the element.

Gst.ParseFlags.PLACE_IN_BIN (4) –

If more than one toplevel element is described by the pipeline description string, put them in a Gst.Bin instead of a Gst.Pipeline. (Since: 1.10)

Gst.ParseFlags.NO_UNTRUSTED (8) –

Refuse to set any property marked Gst.PARAM_UNTRUSTED_SENSITIVE, failing the parse with Gst.ParseError.SENSITIVE_PROPERTY before the property is set, so a setter that performs I/O never runs. Use this when building a pipeline from an untrusted description; what was refused is recorded in the Gst.ParseContext, see Gst.ParseContext.prototype.get_untrusted_report.
